Introduction: Telenursing has been considered as one of the new methods in the management of chronic diseases, including hypertension. This process leads to increased self-care and subsequent management of hypertension. Methods: In this systematic review, an advanced search was conducted with Boolean operators (OR and AND) and a combination of the keywords "Telenursing", "Self-care", "Hypertension" and other Persian equivalents and the English keywords "Hypertension", "Telenursing" and "Self-care" in the international databases Web of Science Core Collection, PubMed/Medline Scopus, Google_Scholar search engine and the national databases SID, Magiran, Irandoc. Studies were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Inclusion criteria were studies published in Persian and English. Review, case, qualitative, descriptive studies, letters to the editor, abstracts of articles, and articles presented at conferences/seminars were excluded. No time limit was considered in the search for articles. Results: In the initial search, 1147 articles were found, and after removing duplicates and considering the inclusion criteria, 12 studies were finally reviewed in line with the objectives of the present study. The findings of the studies indicate that telenursing leads to increased patient awareness, improved adherence to treatment, reduced blood pressure, and improved quality of life in patients with hypertension. Conclusions: The results of this review showed that telenursing can play an effective role in improving self-care, adherence to treatment, and blood pressure control. The present study, by focusing on the challenges and implementation limitations of the plan, has provided the basis for designing more effective solutions for the optimal use of remote nursing.
